Insurance Council sponsors Queensland community meetings

The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) has provided details of community information meetings it is sponsoring in areas affected by the recent Queensland floods.

The ICA has joined with the Financial Ombudsman Service and Queensland Legal Aid in hosting the meetings at Ipswich, Goodna, Karalee, Oxley, Yeronga and Indooroopilly.

The Chief Executive of the Insurance Council of Australia, Mr Rob Whelan, said the meetings will provide both a forum for policy holders to raise insurance issues directly with the industry and for the ICA to provide a brief on the recovery process.

Mr Whelan said policy holders should seek clarification on any issues they may have during the Question Time at the meeting.

Key note speakers from the Insurance Council, the Financial Ombudsman’s Office and Queensland Legal Aid will outline the roles of their respective organisations and the support that policy holders can call on.

Details of the six meetings are attached along with details of how to register to attend.
