The General Insurance Code of Practice is a voluntary Code designed to guarantee exceptional customer service standards and to protect the rights of policyholders. It is monitored by the Financial Ombudsman Service.
The Code is written in plain English and is a promise that its adherents will act in an open, honest and fair manner in all dealings with consumers.
