Bringing together industry leaders, regulators, and commentators from the insurance industry and related fields, the ICA’s conference took a deep-dive into the key opportunities and challenges facing our sector.

Our evening started with a moving Welcome to Country from Michael West, followed by speeches from Nick Hawkins, ICA’s President and CEO of Insurance Australia Group, and a keynote address from Senator Jenny McAllister, Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy.

The ICA thank Sedgwick for sponsoring the welcome drinks at this event – an important part of the evening’s networking.

The ICA’s Annual Conference was back, in-person, at the Ivy Ballroom in the Sydney CBD.

Building on last year’s successful panel format, the conference in Sydney brought together our industry to consider ‘Insuring the Future’.

After a two-year hiatus, the Insurance Council of Australia hosted it’s Annual Dinner in June 2022, providing our industry with a great opportunity to get together, network and reflect on the wins and the challenges we’ve faced.

When natural disaster strikes, the Insurance Council of Australia works with insurers, communities, and all levels of government, to assess damage, share data and support communities when they need it most.

As of May, the Insurance Council of Australia has declared three insurance #catastrophes in 2021 and in May, we help sessions with NSW and Federal Government stakeholders to provide on update on industry response and the proactive measures that will help build resilient communities.

April 2021

The third Building Stronger Homes Roundtable event, convened by the Insurance Council of Australia and Master Builders Australia, looked at reforms to the way codes, standards and land use planning systems promote the resilience of Australian family homes.

February 2021

The Building Stronger Homes Roundtable, convened by the Insurance Council of Australia and Master Builders Australia, focused on the financial impacts of natural disasters, the cost of rebuilding and the learnings from existing resilient homes programs, with the aim of creating actionable change.
